This lovely 26 year old woman had severe acne scarring. Her results are shown after 2 CO2 laser resurfacing treatments. It is a misconception that darker skin types cannot be treated with CO2 laser. In fact, the CO2 laser is colour blind as it is absorbed by water. The important factor when treating darker skin types is controlling the amount of heat delivered to the skin which can cause pigment issues. By customizing the laser parameters to accomodate the darker skin, and by pre treating the skin Dr. Brace was able to maximize the results while avoiding pigment disruption.
